Current Challenges:

St. Petersburg Transitions: an art quilt exhibit - Let the city’s historic or new city vibes be your muse. Pick St. Petersburg (or surrounding area) to inspire you. Landmarks, icons, businesses, histor- ical sites, parks, neighborhoods, homes, bridges, buildings...etc...are the subjects. The exhibit will reflect a community in transition and we look for- ward to your art quilt interpretation.
Any technique or fabric manipulation is accept- able as long as it maintains the character of a textile quilt. Art quilt must be artist’s original design. Finished quilt size: Maximum size 200” perimeter. Entry deadline 02/01/2020.

Transitions in the City: a modern quilt exhibit - Whether you are a beginning quilter or experi- enced quilter this challenge is for you. Let the architecture, layout, patterns and textures of St. Petersburg and surrounding areas inspire you to create a modern quilt. Take a picture in your city...find the lines, patterns, movement...and create a quilt design using geometric shapes, negative space, color, light, and texture. Quilts may be abstract, improvisational, modern traditional, pieced or appliquéd. Quilts must have three layers (top, middle and backing). Finished quilt size: Maximum size 300” perimeter. Entry deadline 02/01/2020
