The Suncoast Quilting Circle (SQC) guild of St. Petersburg, FL was established in 1981.  We are a non-profit organization registered with the State of Florida, with over 100 members.  Except for the holiday season, we meet every Wednesday morning and in the evening on the 3rd Monday of the month.

The Purpose of forming this group is to preserve the art of quilt making, stimulate and encourage interest through educating members and the community.

We welcome new members any time of the year.  Visitors are always welcome at our meetings.  Beginning to experienced quilters are welcome!  Our group is diverse, energetic, friendly, knowledgeable and community oriented. We have many talented members who have won prizes and appeared in publications. Our members are eager to learn and share new techniques and ideas.  Beginning quilters will find our Sit, Sew and Socialize (SSS) and Tips and Techniques (T&T) helpful for learning new techniques and skills quickly.  Please check our Calendar and Events page to see what we are doing in 2017.

At our meetings we have had workshops, lectures, demonstrations.  We encourage Show & Tell, which inspires us to keep quilting.  Our projects have included seasonal blocks, friendship blocks, annual Christmas quilt, block of the month and every other year a quilt show, which includes a raffle quilt, made by our members.  Our next Quilt Show will be March 9-10, 2018. Our monthly newsletter, Thread Tales, keeps our members up to date.  We have quilting retreats every other year. Twice a year we have enrichment days: Summer Enrichment and Winter Enrichment where members can spend a day sewing (mini retreat style) and learn new skills.  We have an extensive library with over 425 books, magazines, DVD's & video's.
