Note: For 2026, we've moved to the FIRST Saturday of the month, but just to make it interesting, January will be on the second Saturday, 1/10. Due to illness, we'll be working on ballon bags for people in nursing homes or for childrn. We'll be skipping February due to the Two Day Sew Day happening the First Weekend in February at the Firefighters Union Hall in St. Pete (separate registration).

Join us to work on your own projects or get help from Darlene Bigham to work on balloon bags.

Besides the basic supplies you'd typically bring (there's a list below), you'll need:

Balloon Supply list:

  • colorful fabric at least 6 x 13 " for sides, each balloon has 6 sides
  • end fabric, at least 5 x 5 "    3 pieces for each balloon
  • scissors to cut out and some sort of marker (chalk, erasable etc.)
  • If these are going for children, bright, colorful type fabric preferred but any will do.

They are very simple, I received feedback from one of the ladies who dropped items off at the nursing home.  They loved them.

We will be meeting in person at St. Giles Church located at 8271 52nd St. N, Pinellas Park, FL 3378; it will also be available over Zoom.

*If you'd like to make $5 donation to offset the cost of renting the room, it will be appreciated.  Please bring a brown bag lunch and beverage.  A refrigerator is available.

Additional details on optional projects, suggested basic supplies to bring, etc. are here.

Our mission is to preserve and promote the art of quilt making, stimulate interest through educating members and the public, and engage in projects for the community where needed and appropriate.
